Allentown and Auburn Railroad: Clearing the Line
This came as a complete surprise. While out in the area to fan Norfolk Southern's Reading Line, we made a stop at Topton yard on the Allentown & Auburn branch. We noticed their switcher #206 was online and was informed that they would be making a trip to Kutztown to clear switches and plow the line. The Allentown and Auburn Railroad's goal is to take over East Penn's operations between Kutztown and Topton. They hope to offer passenger excursions as well as service some of the industries along the line. Please enjoy this little taste of what Pennsylvania's newest shortline is about! I apologize for any vibration. This little switcher loves to shake the ground.
