INGREDIENTS: 14 kwie kwie (Hassa) fish 2 tomatoes ½ onion 2 garlic cloves 1 tsp salt ½ tsp black pepper 1 large bouillon cube 2 tbsp masala (curry powder) ¼ cup celery Some hot water FOR THE PASTE ½onion 2 garlic cloves ½ tsp salt PREPARATION: Make the paste. Set aside. Clean the kwie kwie (hassa) as shown in the video. Please be careful, some parts can be really hard to cut. Wash the fish clean under running water. Now wash with lemon juice. Wash again for the last time. Shake off all the water inside. Pat each fish dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle it with salt before frying. Set aside. Heat up oil and add the paste first then the onion, garlic, black pepper, salt, masala (curry powder), tomatoes, bouillon cube and mix. Add the kwie kwie (hassa) and some hot water. Be gentle when flipping the fish over. Cover and let cook on low heat for 20-30 minutes. Check every so often and mix gently. Add celery and hot peppers. The fish is done when the scales start to become loose. Yummy with hot rice ! ENJOY!
