For Tibetans, it’s something even deeper. It is about carrying the hopes of a people, preserving an identity, and keeping alive the dream of a nation longing for freedom. As millions watch the FIFA World Cup, Tibetans continue to dream of one day seeing our National Team represent a Free Tibet. In this episode, I had a great honour to sit down with the captain of Tibet’s first international football team. His legacy goes far beyond the pitch. For eight years, he led the GCM International, creating opportunities for young Tibetan footballers to dream bigger and aim higher. Today, he is working toward another dream: helping nurture the next generation of Tibetan-Canadian players—including his own son, who is already showing remarkable promise.
