Friends of ArteSettima, this is the description of a 48-hour investigative reportage during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. Il Poet, Sara, and Pasko wandered the festival in search of answers, questioning: first, the international audience; then, the producers, here embodied by Andrea Occhipinti and Andrea Romeo; followed by the directors, namely Francesco Zippel, Giulia Grandinetti, Antonio Donato, and Giacomo Abbruzzese; and, finally, the film communicators, in particular Nicola D'Angelo of MovieFinger and Simone Soranna of Longtake. Was this latest edition of the Cannes Film Festival represented by Italy? What's happening to European cinema? What does the future hold? To try to find out, we traveled to the French Riviera, participated in a roundtable on the future of Italian cinema organized by L’avventura produzione cinematografica and Interno9, and now we're here to share our thoughts with you.
