Chordplay - The Chords of A Perfect Circle

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords of A Perfect Circle. I've been a fan of this group since the beginning and honestly, it was a blast putting this lesson together. Billy Howerdel has always found interesting chord voicings and textures in his music and while there are plenty of electric guitar moments worth mentioning, this lesson features all of the interesting acoustic guitar chords and sinister-sounding ideas he locates and composes, which by studying can open the door to all sorts of new musical directions, unique song ideas, and much more. You may also notice the interesting dropped tuning of being tuned down 1 1/2 steps - which you might find fresh and inspiring, so give it a try and see what happens. All of the chord identification in this episode DOES NOT refer to the tuning, so if you want to find the actual pitches - you can crunch those numbers and figure that out on your own time (lol). : ) I feel this tuning leads to effortless experimentation and a sense of "newness" to the guitar, as everything feels/arranges the same way as standard tuning, but it sounds so much lower and interesting as you play around and get used to the feel and sound.
