🚇 Toronto Transit Commission - Real Time Journey - Line 3 - Kennedy to McCowan

📔 DESCRIPTION 📔 Take a ride in the cab of the TTC's (‪@OfficialTTCchannel‬) Line 3 rapid transit line, in real-time, from Kennedy Station to McCowan Station. The TTC's Line 3 opened in 1985. The provincial government hoped that the intermediate capacity rapid transit system technology used on Line 3 could be used across the suburban areas of Toronto. The TTC originally envisioned a streetcar service where Line 3 now operates but the provincial government of the day threatened to cut funding if the TTC didn't accept the change in technology for the line. Today, Line 3 is approaching the end of its service life, is due to be decommissioned in 2023 and will be replaced by an extension of Line 2 which is now under construction. All footage captured in this video was recorded on July 6, 2022. All filming was completed under authorization from the Toronto Transit Commission.
