Representante de Puno responde a Roberto Sánchez y rechaza libertad de Pedro Castillo

Former Senate candidate for Fuerza Popular, Santusa Ansia Mamani Vilca, rejected the notion that Brígida Curo represents all of Puno and criticized the confrontational rhetoric that, she said, seeks to divide the country instead of addressing the true needs of the population. During an interview with Milagros Leiva, Mamani maintained that Curo's attitude does not reflect Andean women or the entrepreneurial women of Puno who work daily to support their families. "For us, for Andean women throughout Peru, she does not represent us," she stated. The Puno artisan emphasized that aggressiveness should not be confused with political leadership or with defending the regions. Mamani also criticized sectors close to Roberto Sánchez and Juntos por el Perú for not recognizing Keiko Fujimori as the president-elect. According to the Puno leader, a leader must govern for all Peruvians, regardless of ideological or electoral differences. “The only ideology a ruler, a candidate, a leader should have is to protect everyone,” she stated. When asked about the calls for Pedro Castillo's release, Mamani described the demand as a form of political pressure. “For me, it's blackmail,” she said. She also questioned the conditioning of the country's stability on the former president's legal situation and asked if his eventual release would solve the problems of health, basic services, water, employment, or security that affect thousands of Peruvians. The representative from Puno also called on Roberto Sánchez to be accountable for his public administration and to stop promoting conflict among Peruvians. Mamani maintained that working citizens don't have time for hate speech because they have to earn a living every day. She mentioned that she has worked for decades as an artisan and that she promotes businesses related to weaving, spinning, and garment production. KEIKO FUJIMORI AND THE CHALLENGE OF GETTING CLOSER TO PUNO Santusa Mamani revealed that she spoke with Keiko Fujimori and asserted that the president-elect is currently in a phase of reconciliation and preparation to assume the presidency. According to Mamani, Fujimori should visit Puno because a leader must be a unifier and listen to all sectors. “She has to go, because a leader has to be a unifier,” she affirmed. Finally, Mamani denied being afraid of potential attacks for supporting Fujimori and defending a position different from that of radical sectors. “I am not afraid,” she asserted.
