Casting a bronze bottle opener
Aaron challenged me to build him a bopper with a built in bottle opener. I've built a lot of boppers over the last few years, but designing and casting a bottle opener without changing the ergonomics of the bopper was pretty challenging. It took three iterations of design and printing before I got one that would come out of the sand mold cleanly. Shockingly it cast perfectly out of the first successful mold ( there were more than a few unsuccessful molds ) This is part one and is focused on the bottle opener portion, next week I will show you the rest of the build.
