Ponsa muddo/ steamed jackfruit dumplings/ halsina hannina kadbu/ pelata gatti is an all time favourite dish of coastal Karnataka people. This is a very healthy dish, wherein we steam the dumplings in locally available leaves such as teak, Macaranga, banana, turmeric or jackfruit. If none of these leaves are available then one can steam it in idli moulds as well. I'll soon be uploading a video on how to preserve jackfruit pods for a long period of time Ingredients 1. Jackfruit pods - 1 cup 2. Grated Coconut - 1 cup 3. Soaked raw rice - 1 cup 4. Jaggery - 1/2 cup 5. Salt - as per taste 6. Elaichi - optional Note- 1. Soak raw rice for 2 hours 2. Steam the dumplings on high flame for first 15 minutes. Followed by steaming on low flame for next 20-30 minutes. 3. This video was shot in the month of August, during my last jackfruit harvest of the year. 4.
