Keeping print profitable: How CherryRoad is rethinking newspaper production for smaller markets

An E&P Sponsored Webinar broadcast on June 25, 2026 For years, publishers have searched for ways to keep print economically viable as circulation declines, press operators become harder to find, transportation costs climb and newsprint grows increasingly expensive and difficult to source. While much of the industry’s focus has been on digital transformation, CherryRoad Media CEO Jeremy Gulban believes the future of many community newspapers may also depend on reinventing how they are printed. During a recent E&P sponsored webinar, Gulban joined Joe O’Doherty, senior sales executive at CDS, one of North America’s largest Xerox partners, to explain how a distributed digital printing model is helping smaller newspapers reduce production costs, improve margins and create new opportunities to sustain local print publishing.
