Villa Park Expansion | Roof almost gone | North Stand Roof Trusses Being Removed | 19 July 2026

During my latest visit to Villa Park on 19 July 2026, I witnessed one of the most significant moments so far in Aston Villa’s North Stand redevelopment. Workers, operating from a cage suspended high above the site, carefully cut through one of the remaining roof trusses before a large crane lifted the steel section clear and lowered it safely into the construction site. It was a fascinating operation to watch and marks another major step in the transformation of Villa Park. The drone footage also reveals just how much has changed since my previous visit. Most of the North Stand roof has now disappeared, with only the pitch-side section still remaining, giving a much clearer view of the scale of the redevelopment.
