When God Speaks, How Do You Respond? This teaching takes us to the first chapter of Luke's Gospel, where two parallel stories reveal a profound truth: the difference between a stale faith and a surrendered faith. Zechariah, a righteous and devout priest, had served God all his life. But when the answer to his prayer arrives, his heart doubts. In contrast, Mary, a young woman with no experience, resources, or social standing, responds simply: “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to me be fulfilled.” Through this contrast, the sermon invites us to reflect: 👉 What do we do when God speaks to us? 👉 Do we respond with disbelief, seeking guarantees? 👉 Or with surrender, believing that He is our strength? “When God wants to begin something new, He doesn’t seek the most prepared, but the most available.” This message is a call to renew our faith, to leave behind spiritual weariness, and to believe again in the impossible.
