A 21-year-old Mohammed Khokar lost his life after a massive crane collapsed from an under-construction site in Mira Road, crashing into a nearby housing society and damaging several vehicles. The crane collapsed at a JP Infra construction site in Mira Road. The tragedy has now taken a dramatic turn. Khokar's father has alleged that police refused to name JP Infrastructure in the FIR and instead insisted on naming only the contractor. Claiming he spent hours at the police station without getting justice, the grieving father has warned that he will protest outside the police station with his son's body if action is not taken against everyone responsible. Residents say they had repeatedly flagged safety concerns about the crane, alleging it was installed dangerously close to residential buildings. The victim's family and relatives are now demanding a CID investigation, arguing that the case should be treated as culpable homicide, not just negligence.
