Visiting the Rat Temple in India was probably one of the most tense (and disgusting) moments I have ever had on a trip. The temple is located in the city of Deshnok, approximately 30 km from Bikaner. It is not a popular destination for tourists, but I decided to include it in my itinerary for this trip to India just so I could visit this famous Rat Temple. The Indians from this region believe that these rats are nothing more or less than the reincarnation of their relatives. As such, they visit the temple every day, bring gifts and food for the rats, and every day a big lunch is held for the whole village, where they eat with the rats. The rats walk around with the food. It is a world that is truly very different from anything I have ever seen in the world. In the video, we give more details and tell you more about the history of the temple and why these rats are sacred, as well as showing the complete experience of what it was like to visit the famous Temple of the Rats.
