Ablation bei Vorhofflimmern: Wie verläuft der Eingriff?
Catheter ablation can improve the symptoms and quality of life of patients with atrial fibrillation – and often permanently end the troublesome electrical impulses in the heart. This involves selectively destroying the abnormal electrical impulses in the heart using a catheter and radiofrequency current or cryotherapy. How exactly does such a procedure work? Which atrial fibrillation patients benefit most from the procedure, and which less? And what do new technologies promise? Specialists explain ablation using a patient as an example.
