El Castillo de Higuera de Calatrava en la Edad Media

Of the fortifications of Higuera, only the main tower of the castle remains, dating from the second half of the 13th century or the beginning of the 14th. In 1524 the castle was still maintained, and even had a warden. This fulfilled relatively important military functions throughout the 13th and 14th centuries, since it acted as a bastion of the Calatravo power in the countryside of Martos and was the protagonist of some war episodes. This video describes what both the castle and the town are supposed to have looked like in the mid-15th century, as well as the general context in which its population lived.
