Our Bilbao tour starts at the theater, leads along the river to the largest market hall in Europe, and even crosses the Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James). In the Old Town, we immerse ourselves in the Basque flair amidst narrow streets and lively tapas bars. We then leave the Old Town along the river towards the City Hall before reaching the famous Zubizuri Bridge. We continue across the Puente de la Salve (Salve Bridge), where the iconic Guggenheim Museum opens up – including the famous spider "Maman" and the colorful Puppy. Afterwards, our route takes us to Athletic Bilbao's San Mamés Stadium and back to the starting point via the Gran Vía. ... On the second day, Bilbao was heavily overcast – the planned funicular ride was canceled. Instead, we took the metro to the starting point of the Mammoth Walk, strolled along the harbor to the Vizcaya Bridge, the world-famous, oldest transporter bridge in the world. There, we booked tickets for the crossing at a height of almost 50 meters – an absolutely breathtaking experience. Finally, we continued to the harbor entrance and the beach, where our tour ended. Two days in Bilbao: incredibly beautiful, full of culture, architecture, nature, and countless sights. Afterward, we tackled the Mammoth Walk before heading home on Sunday.
