In Alpine villages, such clever combinations weren’t accidents—they protected homes from wind, saved materials, and gave buildings unique personality. 🧵 Crafts & traditions of the valley For centuries, people in Corippo made their living from the land: growing flax and hemp, weaving fabrics, working with granite and wood. Today, the village is revitalised by the “albergo diffuso” concept—historic homes restored and reused, reminding us of times passed. 🌲 Tiny villages at the foot of mountains We also explore a lesser‑known village nearby: stone homes nestled against rocky slopes, boulders part of walls and courtyards, quiet and authentic. The lives of its inhabitants echo centuries past. 💥 Legendary dam – Verzasca Dam (Contra Dam) Finally, we reach the impressive Verzasca Dam, a towering engineering wonder (220 m high, 380 m long) perched above the reservoir of Lago di Vogorno. This very dam starred in the legendary bungee‑jump scene from GoldenEye 🎬.
