Sturtz: The Music Room Presents

Some weeks just call for music that speaks directly to the soul. If you’re looking for the calm in the storm, this TMR Presents performance from Sturtz hits the spot perfectly. This Boulder-based acoustic trio effortlessly blends folk, Americana, and some slight indie influences into a warm, harmony-driven sound. The delivery is powerful, to say the least.    Centered on rich three-part harmonies and organic string work, their sound feels unforced, like a group with age-old chemistry. This is evident throughout the first four songs, all from their latest album, Hyacinth. However, it is the final track, "Changing by the Second," from their debut album, where that chemistry reaches its peak. They sound like a trio that has been playing together since before recorded music.
