This is the KT Vehicle Channel. This time, we'll be reporting on the construction status of the Higashi-Kanto Expressway Mito Line. The Higashi-Kanto Expressway Mito Line is a national expressway stretching approximately 123 km, starting at Takaya JCT, which connects with the Shuto Expressway Bayshore Route and the Tokyo Outer Ring Expressway, and continuing to the Kita-Kanto Expressway and Ibaraki-machi JCT. Of this section, approximately 30km from Itako City to Hokota City in Ibaraki Prefecture remains unopened and is currently under construction. This channel has been recording the construction status of this section on video since 2018. This is the first time we've covered this section in about six months, so how is the progress going? In December 2024, the seventh Project Liaison and Coordination Meeting was held, where related agencies share information on progress and issues. A project reevaluation to determine the continuity and appropriateness of the public works project was also conducted for the first time in three years. According to the report, land acquisition for the main line has been completed 100%, with the exception of the newly added Namegata PA, and construction has now begun along the entire line. Although there are concerns that some land transfers have not been completed, the entire line is expected to open within fiscal year 2026. Furthermore, for the section from Kitaura IC to Hokota IC, the opening date has been brought forward to mid-fiscal year 2026, indicating a specific opening date for the first time. Based on this liaison and coordination meeting and reevaluation, we will review the current construction status on-site, comparing it with past results.
