DIVISION WITH A COMMA ✅In this video you will learn about DIVISION WITH DECIMAL POINTS (DIVISION WITH DECIMAL NUMBERS). Division refers to the idea of sharing, distributing, or dividing into equal parts. In a division, the number to be divided is called the dividend, the number by which the dividend is divided is called the divisor, the result of this division is the quotient, and we also have the remainder, whose value must be a number smaller than the divisor. This number can be zero or different from zero. If the remainder is zero, we have an exact division; if the remainder is a number different from zero, we have a non-exact division, and it is possible to continue this division using decimal numbers. To continue this division, simply transform the units of the remainder into tenths, and for this reason, a decimal point is placed in the quotient. In this way, you should proceed normally, always transforming the remainder into tenths, then hundredths, thousandths, until you find a remainder of zero or find an answer that satisfies your question. The inverse operation of division is multiplication, which is why, to check the answer, you must perform the multiplication calculation. Therefore, if we multiply the quotient by the divisor and add the remainder, we obtain the dividend. The method I used to explain this is the "long division method," which is used in Brazil.
