KOPPITSCH | Natural Wine of Burgenland

Alex and Maria Koppitsch may be smaller in scale than other natural wine producers in Burgenland, Austria, but their wines are totally unique and they have gained an army of followers around the world for their wonderful wines, which are a mix of easy going like Homok, Ret and Pretty Nats and also complex wines like Touch, Perspektive and the rather rare, A Quiet Soft Light. The family winery did not always have it worked out though, with a lack of importers at first which Maria Koppitsch discusses here. They have evolved from single-varietal wines to blends showcasing differing soil types, and their Biodynamic practices are always of strong importance to Maria and Alex Koppitsch- both for their wines and themselves personally.
