The Spurs Made Me Love the NBA Again

There was a time when I couldn't miss an NBA game. Then somewhere along the way, I stopped watching. The flopping. The constant complaints to the refs. The feeling that the game I loved wasn't as fun anymore. For more than a decade, I barely paid attention to the NBA. Then the San Antonio Spurs happened. As someone who spent seven years living in San Antonio, watching this young Spurs team fight its way back to the NBA Finals has been exciting, inspiring, and honestly unexpected. Led by 7'5" phenom Victor Wembanyama and one of the youngest starting lineups in NBA Finals history, the Spurs have reminded me what made basketball great in the first place: passion, teamwork, effort, and joy. In this episode of Pensando Out Loud, I talk about why I walked away from the NBA, what this Spurs team is doing differently, and how sometimes the things we once loved find a way back into our lives. Have the Spurs brought you back to the NBA too?
