КТО ТАКИЕ КУРДЫ и ЕЗИДЫ. Что скрывают историки?
The Kurds are one of the oldest and most numerous peoples in the Middle East without a state of their own. They live in the territory of historical Kurdistan, divided between Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. They speak Iranian languages (primarily Kurmanji and Sorani) and have a rich culture with epics, music, and nomadic and mountain traditions. Many consider them descendants of the Medes, ancient Iranian tribes, and even the Sumerians, but official history often glosses over these roots to avoid violating modern political boundaries. The Yazidis are a unique ethnoreligious group closely related to the Kurds. Most Yazidis speak the Kurmanji dialect of Kurdish, live in the same regions (especially Sinjar in Iraq), and share a genetic and cultural heritage. However, they practice Yazidism (Sharfadin), a closed, syncretic religion with elements of ancient Iranian beliefs, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, Islam, and pre-Islamic paganism. The central figure is the angel Malak Taus (Peacock Angel), sometimes mistakenly called the "devil," which led to centuries of persecution. Yazidis are not made, but born; the religion is transmitted orally and is strictly endogamous. Historians often debate whether the Yazidis are a distinct people or "Kurds who preserved their ancient faith before Islamization." Many sources call Yazidism one of the oldest Kurdish religions or even a "pan-Kurdish religion of the pre-Islamic period." Some Muslim Kurds are descended from Yazidis who were forcibly converted to Islam in the Middle Ages and later. But official scholarship and politics in the region prefer either to conflate everyone under the rubric "Kurds" or, conversely, to artificially divide them in order to weaken national movements. What are historians really hiding? First and foremost, the scale of the genocides. The Yazidis have endured dozens (according to their traditions, 72–73) of mass killings, exterminations, and forced conversions since the 7th century, from the Arabs and Ottomans to ISIS in 2014. Many modern Muslim Kurds are descendants of Islamized Yazidis, and some historical "Kurdish" tribes were formed precisely from their roots. Academic works often avoid these topics, so as not to touch on sensitive issues of identity, lands, and the guilt of neighboring states and tribes. In this video, we will examine the real roots of the Kurds and Yazidis, drawing on ancient sources, oral traditions, genetics, and controversial theories. You'll learn why Yazidism is called a "forbidden" religion, how Malak Taus is connected to ancient myths, and why historians still debate who "absorbed" whom—the Kurds or the Yazidis. Subscribe, like, and comment: do you consider the Yazidis a separate people or part of the Kurdish nation? The truth lies somewhere in the middle—and it's definitely not in textbooks. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This work is entirely fictional. All characters, names, events, and situations are fictitious and have no connection to actual people or events.
