We have started our trip northbound toward the Broughtons, and in this video, I have some footage from a couple of hops we made. First, we left Campbell River and headed straight up Discovery Passage, then anchored at Charles Bay in Blind Channel. We stayed there for a day because of the rainy weather. The next morning, we continued on our second leg through Greenpoint Rapids and Cordero Channel, then through Whirlpool Rapids, and anchored in Douglas Bay at Forward Harbour, where we are now. We are just waiting on a good weather window so we can continue up the Johnstone Strait. This back route helps us avoid a lot of the nasty weather. We left on June 8th after stocking up in Campbell River with fresh groceries, full water tanks, and some new gear like rechargeable fans and Anne's underwater action camera. We timed our departure through Seymour Narrows for slack tide, enjoyed calm conditions, and even had a big cruise ship pass us. The rain held off, so we made it to Charles Bay, a peaceful and familiar spot. We spent one day there, letting a short rainstorm pass, and the next morning we took the back way through the rapids to Forward Harbour since Johnstone Strait was still windy. It is nice and calm here with just us in the bay for now. We are keeping an eye on the forecasts and will push on when Mother Nature gives us the green light. Stay tuned. Visit the Love Your RV!
