Jaén is the leading producer of olive oil in Spain. While there are olive trees all over the country, Jaén with nearly 70 million olive trees producing, it’s the province par excellence. Its Mediterranean climate and fertile soil make this possible, though in recent years, droughts have impacted production. Wide open landscapes with plateaus and valleys full of olive trees stretching as far as the eye can see make this province’s agrarian landscape truly unique.
