Crunchy, healthy spinach lentil fritters (vadalu) are a great evening snack. They are usually made with green gram or black gram. Here is the recipe for making crispy green gram dal palak gurela that everyone loves: [1, 2, 3] 1. Ingredients Green gram: 1 cup Salad: 1 cup (finely chopped) Onion: ½ cup Green chillies: 3-4 (finely chopped) Ginger garlic paste or ginger slices: 1 teaspoon Cereal: 1 teaspoon Curry leaves, coriander: a little Salt: to taste Oil: enough for frying Rice flour: 1 or 2 tablespoons (to make the gurela more crispy) [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] 2. Preparation Soaking & grinding the dal: First, wash the green gram cleanly and soak it for at least Soak the lentils in water for 2 to 3 hours. After soaking the lentils well, drain all the water completely (there should be no water at all). Remove one or two tablespoons of lentils from this lentils and keep them aside (if you add this at the end, the paste will be nice to look at and eat). Put the remaining lentils in a mixie jar and grind them to a coarse paste (course) without adding any water. The dough should not be too soft. Preparing the mixture: 5. Also, to make the garelas crispy and for binding, add rice flour to it and mix well with your hands without water (the moisture in the spinach and onions is enough). Frying the garelas: 8. Now put a pan on the stove and pour enough oil for frying and heat it. 9. Once the oil is hot, apply a little water or oil on your hands and take a small lemon-sized lump of dough and flatten it into a flatbread (garela). 10. Carefully place the garelas in the oil. 11. Keep the flame on medium flame and fry the garelas by turning them on both sides until they turn golden brown. 12. If the garelas are well-burnt, place them on a plate with a tissue paper to absorb the excess oil. [1, 2, 3, 4] That's it! Very crispy and hot Palak Pappu Garelu are ready. They are very tasty when eaten with tomato sauce or ginger chutney. [1]
