Choosing the Narrow Road Again | Faith, Discipline, and the Unseen Choices That Shape Us

“For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and only a few find it.” — Matthew 7:13–14 In this reflection, I share thoughts on disappointment, perseverance, parenting, music, faith, and the small unseen choices that quietly shape our character over time. After my son recently competed in a cello competition and didn’t win, I found myself reflecting deeply on what the “narrow road” Jesus talks about actually looks like in everyday life. Often, it is not found in dramatic moments, but in ordinary acts of faithfulness: continuing to practice, choosing discipline over comfort, staying present with our families, and trusting God even when life feels discouraging. Maybe the narrow road is simply choosing to keep going again. If this encouraged you, thank you for listening and being here.
