Reinaldo faced a complicated situation when he bought a used car from a dealership in Morumbi, São Paulo. After purchasing two vehicles, one of them developed defects within the 90-day legal warranty period. The transaction was brokered by João Quintal, a friend of Reinaldo's who is accustomed to dealing with cars. The problem arose when the vehicle broke down during a trip to Guarulhos. Ricardo, the owner of the dealership where the cars were purchased, initially agreed to pick up the vehicle for repairs. However, after repairs that took 19 days at the mechanic shop recommended by Ricardo, he demanded payment for the services performed before releasing the car. The issue escalated when Reinaldo contacted his lawyer to try to amicably resolve the dispute over who should bear the costs of the repairs under warranty.
