Backpacking Utah's Desert: Day 3 - ESCALANTE RIVER / LOWER COYOTE GULCH

This is day 3 of our four day backpacking trip in Utah! On this day, we began right under Steven's Arch, at the junction of Steven's Canyon and Fool's Canyon. We made our way South and explored further along the Escalante River. We found ourselves in waist deep, swift water which made our return upstream much more difficult. We then made our way back into Coyote Gulch and explored the most beautiful place I have ever seen. It was truly out of this world. As we made our way through, Lower Coyote Gulch just kept revealing more and more awe inspiring scenery. Absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! We set up camp just beneath a beautiful waterfall inside a bend in the canyon where the walls stretched up seemingly thousands of feet.
