Unveiling of the official portrait of Colonel Tench Tilghman to Talbot County
The portrait of Tilghman was painted by local award-winning portrait artist, Laura Era, owner of the Troika Gallery in Easton, Maryland on behalf of the Colonel Tench Tilghman Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). In the video, Wes Hagood, former President of the Colonel Tench Tilghman SAR Chapter, Frank Gunsallus, and Laura Era tell how this public art project came about and the challenges the artist experienced when creating this work of art. The development of this public art project was supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) which receives support in part from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), a federal agency.
