I climbed Mount Jinba in mid-January. On the bus ride from Takao Station to Jinba Kogenshita, there's a variation route called Nakataniyama Ridge, located at Sekiba. This time, I approached Mount Jinba using this ridge. It's a quiet and quaint path, and even though it's in the crowded Oku-Takao mountain range, you can experience a deep and tranquil world as you climb. The route is mostly uphill, and passes through several mountains, so there are just the right amount of ups and downs. However, it wasn't so obscure that it could be called a variation route, and I found it to be a very easy path to walk. Since this year is the Year of the Horse, Mount Jinba may be busier than usual this winter. If you're interested, check it out. I made a negitoro rice bowl at the top of Mount Jinba.
