In late March, during the lingering snow season in the Yatsugatake Mountains, I hiked a loop around Mt. Amigasa and Mt. Nishidake, camping at Seinen Hut. The weather was excellent, making for a very refreshing snow-covered mountain trek. The temperature didn't drop too low, and best of all, there was almost no wind, making it very comfortable. The temperature at the campsite was around zero degrees Celsius at night, and while it was cold, I think I managed to get through it without any problems. I usually spend winter hiking in lower mountains, but even so, I sometimes feel the urge to go to snow-covered mountains. The beauty and harshness of the mountain scenery are truly irreplaceable. I made a radish mille-feuille hot pot at the campsite.
