Gay marriage has been legal in Portugal for 4 years, I'm 16/17 and still in high school, and I'm watching a portuguese soap opera with my mom and this couple happens! Now, at the time this was one of the few portuguese same sex couples to ever exist in a soap opera targeting adults (still is btw), at the time this was one of the few stuff from my own country where i've ever saw internalized homophobia portrayed, where I saw portrayed both the struggles of being queer but also that acceptance, success and happiness was possible for us!! Also they served friends to enemies to lovers and I can't handle it!!! So yeah even if the story wasn't perfect (mainly cause the trope of queer person with internalized homophobia who becomes kind of bully for a while is not my favourite), the way they did their story means a whole lot to me and i had forgotten how much until i randomly turned on my tv and this soap opera was playing! Editing them was the happiest i've ever been editing in a while (which is hard cause i usually already am pretty happy editing) and I cried and squealed a lot for this shitty ass video!!! The quality is terrible, there's background music and the damn logos irk me so much but it's worth it!!! Hope you like it!
