Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force US-2 Rescue Flying Boat Training in the Ogasawara Islands

Date of photo: Wednesday, January 26, 2022 Location: Chichijima Blue Lighthouse Pier Equipment: Nikon COOLPIX P950 I heard the sound of an airplane passing over my house and ran outside and saw a propeller plane flying away. It was a US-2 rescue flying boat of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. I hadn't heard anything about a training session, so I thought it was a COVID-19 patient transport, but it was a training session. The disaster prevention radio was sounded at the Blue Lighthouse, but the wind was so strong that I couldn't hear anything they were saying, so I don't know if the radio was talking about this training session or not. I'd like to know in advance, since I'm here.
