When we talk about lupus anticoagulant, we talk about blood clotting, about the blood clotting system, thrombosis and obstetric complications that can arise in connection with this condition. Blood clotting occurs when the vascular wall is damaged, it is necessary to cause the formation of a thrombus and prevent bleeding. This is the function of the blood clotting system, which works together with the anticoagulant, or anticoagulant, system of the blood. After the thrombus has formed, it must be removed from the vascular bed. And this task is handled by the fibrinolytic system of the blood, which ensures the dissolution and removal of the thrombus from the site of its formation. In order for all three of these systems to work in a complex manner, a complex system of both regulation is necessary, and a sufficient amount and functionality of each of these factors is necessary. Blood clotting is a cascade of blood clotting, when substances activate subsequent links in the chain one after another and lead to the formation of a fibrin clot. The final reaction is the formation of insoluble fibrin so that this thrombus can form. After this, the fibrinolytic system of substances that participate in blood clotting is already connected. First of all, these are proteins - blood clotting factors, which are connected one after another in the process of clot formation. If one of these substances is insufficient, then blood clotting will slow down and will not occur as it should. The second reason for the disorders may be an excess of anticoagulants, which the patient may, for example, receive. In addition, the effect of inhibitors of blood clotting factors is possible, when the amount of factors is sufficient, but they are blocked by a substance called an inhibitor of the blood clotting factor. When such disorders occur, we can clinically see either thrombotic disorders or bleeding. Various tests are used to diagnose these disorders, for example, the APTT test, activated partial thromboplastin, time serves to assess how quickly blood clotting occurs from the moment of activation until the formation of an filina clot.
