Oil Painting Glazing Essentials: How To Use Colour Glazes (Full Demonstrations)
This full tutorial shows you how to mix glazes for oil painting, while giving demonstrations on a variety of art, and a more major work. It's important to learn how glaze acts and how to solve problems when they inevitably crop up! We cover a lot of information for oil painters in this one, so we hope you enjoy it (and take notes!) ➤ LAST TIME: Hello and welcome to The Gold Coast Art School channel! We've been away for a long time, but now we're BACK... for a bit. Today's video is one for oil painters. We have a lot of example images here to help show how glazes look on a variety of colours. Stephen chats about how to mix your glaze, types of brushes to use, how to fix problems, and how to apply colour glazes to an image. A glaze can be used to: Change the colour of an image Deepen colour (add depth) Make oil paint more transparent Extend paint We use Liquol number 4 (that's meant to be hash four, but things look funny on here!). It's by a company called Art Spectrum, which we use as Australians, since it's an Aussie-made brand. But you can use other mediums for glazing. We have some video tutorials about that: ➡️ • Oil Painting Glazing: Full Demonstration O... ➡️ • Know Your Solvents: Gum Turpentine vs Mine... ➡️ • How To Clean Paint Brushes (Oil & Acrylic)...
