The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for Keonjhar district, forecasting more than 200 mm of rainfall. An Orange Alert has also been issued for 10 districts, including Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, and Jharsuguda. According to weather experts, heavy rainfall is expected to continue across Odisha until August 1. River basins of the Budhabalanga, Subarnarekha, and Baitarani are likely to receive significant rainfall, raising concerns over rising river water levels and possible flooding in low-lying areas.
