Today was the day to get our hands dirty and renovate our mother's wood-burning stove here in the countryside 🔥🤎 My sister and I started by removing all the excess old clay from the furnace, cleaning the ashes, and disassembling the parts that had come loose over the years. In the middle of cleaning, we even found an old piece hidden inside for a long time 😱 Then came the most fun part: preparing the clay the old-fashioned way, using ant soil, ash, and a lot of foot strength 😂 While we were kneading the clay dancing forró and quadrilha, my sister slipped and fell in the middle of the dance… and it's been nothing but laughter ever since 🤣 Our mother taught us all the old farm techniques to get the clay to stick perfectly to the furnace, including the trick with the wet machete to align everything nicely.
