Warrnambool Bay Beach, located on Victoria’s southwest coast, is a stretch of golden sand where the Southern Ocean meets the shore in steady, rolling waves. On a clear day, the water shifts between deep blue and turquoise, reflecting the sky above. A constant sea breeze moves inland, carrying the scent of salt and seaweed, while the tide quietly reshapes the shoreline. The beach is quite a popular spot for swimming and walking. Its 2.2-mile (3.5-km) stretch offers lifeguard-patrolled swimming in the west and surf breaks in the east. For family-friendly swimming, stay near the Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club at Bathing Beach, patrolled on summer weekends. Kids can enjoy the shallow waters and nearby sand dunes. Surfers should head east to Point Ritchie for reef breaks. Fishing is popular from the western breakwater, while Lake Pertobe Adventure Park offers paddleboats, trails, and playgrounds. On the eastern side, Logans Beach is ideal for whale watching from June to September. You can grab fish and chips from the beachside kiosk or dine at the café near the breakwater with views of Lady Bay and Middle Island.
