Sapphire Lakes & Upper Holland Lake Loop trail in Montana's Flathead National Forest
The Holland Lake Trail system is located just south of Condon, Montana and sits at the base of the Swan Mountain Range nestled between the Bob Marshall Wilderness and the Mission Mountain Range. We hiked the Sapphire Lakes and Upper Holland Lake Loop trail in a clockwise fashion. The benefits of this is that you get all of the elevation gain (approximately 3,600 feet) out of the way in about 5.5 miles and the rest is a gentle decline to the trailhead. The views of both the Sapphire Lakes and the Upper Holland Lake are also amazing as you hike down to them. Our hike was about 13.8 miles in total. Be sure you are familiar with the trail system and trail numbers before attempting this loop. Enjoy the Wilds of Montana!
