Mitomycin-C Preparation

𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆𝗰𝗶𝗻 -𝗖 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗡 (𝟬.𝟬𝟰%), 𝗣𝗥𝗞(𝟬.𝟬𝟰%), 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆(𝟬.𝟬𝟮%) Mitomycin-C(MMC) is an anti-metabolite with an anti-proliferative effect by inhibiting DNA synthesis and interfering with RNA transcription and protein synthesis. MMC is isolated from the soil bacterium Streptomyces caespitosus. 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆𝗰𝗶𝗻-𝗖 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗡 (𝟬.𝟬𝟰%) 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 =========== A. Injection mitomycin-C 2 mg B. 5 ml distilled water/saline C. 5 ml syringe D. Any eye drop bottle 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 ====== Step-1: Take 5 ml distilled water in a syringe Step-2: Inject 5 ml distilled water into Mitomycin-C vail Step-3: Shake well to mix the contents Step-4: Empty the bottle of eye drop Step-5: Take 5 ml of Mitomycin-C eye drop Step-6: And inject it into the empty eye drop bottle Step-7: 0.04% Mitomycin-C eye drop is prepared Step-8: Mention the name of the patient, name of the drug, date of preparation, and - frequency of instillation on the bottle 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆𝗰𝗶𝗻 -𝗖 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗥𝗞 (𝟬.𝟬𝟰%) 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 =========== Injection mitomycin-C 2 mg 5 ml RL 5 ml syringe 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 ====== Step-1: Take 5 ml ringer lactate in a syringe Step-2: Inject 5 ml ringer lactate into Mitomycin-C vail Step-3: Shake well to mix the contents Step-4: 0.04% Mitomycin-C is prepared 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆𝗰𝗶𝗻 -𝗖 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆(𝟬.𝟬𝟮%) 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 =========== Injection mitomycin-C 2 mg 10 ml distilled water 10 ml syringe 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 ======= Step-1: Take 10 ml distilled water in a syringe Step-2: Inject 10 ml distilled water into Mitomycin-C vail Step-3: Shake well to mix the contents 0.02% Mitomycin-C is prepared 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿: This video is meant for the education of eye specialist.
