GUIDING LIGHT - June 2009 "As It Is" Part 1

Overview: Phillip is in California. The morning after Ed told him he was suffering from a terminal illness, Ed finds Phillip on the front steps of his clinic and the two of them go inside. Ed tells Phillip he doesn't have more than three months left to live, and that his extremely rare lung disease, which was picked up through the air in the mountains while Phillip was on the run, is untreatable. Phillip takes off. Phillip runs to a basketball court where he and Rick played the day before, and breaks down. Lillian and Beth talk about how much fun it has been planning Bill and Lizzie's wedding. Bill and Lizzie spar over who will tell Vanessa, Beth and Lillian that they want to plan their own wedding. Rick finds Phillip at the basketball court, followed soon after by Ed. Rick notices Ed's softened behaviour towards Phillip, and father and son share a moment. Lizzie enjoys watching Bill stutter his way into telling her mother and grandmother that he wants to plan his own wedding.
