What a memorable night it was. Had slept inside the car parked outside Shree Dattatreya Temple Kalo Dungar. Normally civilian vehicles and civilians were not allowed inside the premises after Sunset, however, I was allowed to stay inside the car as a special case. It was a full moon night and the pujari of the temple kept singing bhajans till late night while I kept awake, in awe of the heavenly atmosphere. Got up to a beautiful morning. Some Gujarati NRIs arrived and narrated their tales of emotional attachment with the motherland. They told me how badly they missed their childhood times and were very excited to come home but the way they were treated, make them return back ASAP. There was no Sunrise that day due to haze, still the Kalo Dungar viewpoint was full by 9am. People arrived in hordes, enjoyed the views, camel rides and snacks. Folk singers made the place come alive with their haunting songs. Left the place around midday, stopped for a while at Magnetic Field. Drove towards the Indo-Pak LOC looking to reach till at least India Bridge. However, was not allowed beyond a check post as I didn’t have the permit. Drove back, enjoyed snacks and tea at Khavda and then diverted towards Gandhi nu Gaam, a village developed to showcase local arts, handicrafts, attire and jewellery. Evening was fantastic at Dhordo, Rann Utsav site, very colorful and well lit. After meals parked the car at the Rann Village Resort parking and slept inside…!!!
