Bernstein: Mambo from West Side Story | Space Coast Symphony Orchestra

Experience the electric energy of Leonard Bernstein’s “Mambo” from West Side Story, performed by the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra during our annual Side-by-Side Concert and Season 17 finale, Made in America. This special performance brought together more than ninety musicians on stage, uniting SCSO professionals with talented student musicians from across Brevard, Indian River, and Orange counties. For 17 seasons, our Side-by-Side program has given emerging young musicians the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside professional orchestral artists in a full-scale concert setting. Bold, brassy, rhythmic, and explosive, Bernstein’s “Mambo” is one of the great showpieces of American orchestral music — and the perfect celebration of the extraordinary energy created when generations of musicians share the stage.
