S01E26 - Cape York in 7 days, Cooktown to the Tip via the Old Telegraph Track July 2023

What an amazing adventure! Cape York in itself is a rewarding accomplishment but driving the Old Telegraph Track took it to the next level. Come along on our journey this July 2023 season for all the action Cape York has to offer. Anyone who knows us knows that we are not 4WD experts so hitting the OTT was way out of our comfort zone but easily one of the most memorable adventures of our trip around Aus so far! If you're planning a trip to Cape York or planning to drive the Old Tele Track then this video is an absolute must-watch. We hit the track in our 200 series Landcruiser, teamed up with our friends in their GQ Patrol to take on everything the OTT could throw at us including such notable obstacles as Palm Creek, Ducie Creek, Pinkwater Creek, Dulhunty River, Bertie Creek, Gunshot Creek, Cockatoo Creek, Canal Creek, Sam Creek, Mistake Creek, Cannibal Creek, Cyrpess Creek, Logans Crossing and Nolans Brook. We also take our time to stop in at the stunning Fruitbat Falls, Elliot Falls and Twin Falls along the way which prove to be a much needed break from the gruelling track. But, of course, once we navigate all the obstacles we carry on across the Jardine River Ferry to check out Seisia, Punsand Bay and Roonga Point before reaching the iconic Cape York Tip (Pajinka) take have our photo taken at the most Northern point of the Australian mainland!! Of course no trip to the tip is complete without a stop at the Croc Tent for some Cape York merch. We towed our Jayco All-Terrain from Cooktown to Bramwell Junction Roadhouse via Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park where we geared up with our Adventure Kings Swags and full off-grid, off-road set up to free-camp our way along the O.T.T. The van and the cruiser perform exceptionally well on the corrugations of the Peninsula Developmental Road (PDR) and get us all the way to the tip and back in one piece!
