RD500: The More I Rode It, The Less I Liked It!

After getting my old RD500 back, there were a few jobs I’d been meaning to tackle for a long time. In this video I start returning the bike closer to its original specification by removing some of the modifications that had been carried out over the years. The front brake setup is returned to standard, new brake hoses are fitted, the gearing is changed back to Yamaha’s original specification, and the chain is adjusted to suit. But what should have been a straightforward job takes an unexpected turn when a test ride reveals that all is not well with the fuel system. This is Part 1 of the process as I begin tracking down the latest issue and start ordering the parts needed to get the bike running properly again. Will returning the bike to standard improve it?
