Gsür T5: Exposed Ridges, Broken Ropes & Epic Views - The Watcher Above Adelboden

Standing guard over Adelboden. 🏔️✨ Known as "Der Bergwächter" (The Mountain Guardian), the Gsür (2,708 m) is one of the most striking and technical summits in the Bernese Alps. While its neighbor Albristhorn gets all the crowds, Gsür offers a raw, quiet, and far more adventurous alpine experience. Starting from Tschentenalp, the ascent is a steady climb until you reach the infamous gully (Rinne). This section is a serious T5 scramble with loose rock—wearing a helmet is absolutely essential here due to the risk of falling stones! The final ridge to the summit is short, exposed, and rated UIAA II. When we tackled this in August, the fixed rope on the crux was damaged, reminding us that in the high Alps, you must always rely on your own skills.
