I visited the Falkland Islands, one of the Most Remote & difficult to reach British overseas territories. I explore Stanley, the Southernmost Capital City in the World, which, with a population around 3,000 wouldn't be considered more than a small town in most countries. But here, it is the BUSTLING metropolis and only real town. There is also only 1 flight per week to the islands, so while I was effectively "trapped" here, it also meant I had plenty of time to discover their beauty as well as chat with many Falkland Islanders to learn about the complex history of the most unique and fascinating place I have ever visited. Why does anyone live on these isolated, barren, windswept islands next to Antarctica? Why was the Falkland War of 1982 fought over them? Why are there over 1 million penguins?
