In this German lesson, we'll take a closer look at the pronouns sie, ihr, ihnen, Sie, and Ihr, which can mean she, her, hers, they, theirs, them, you, and yours. These forms are often confused because the same word, sie, can have multiple meanings. First, we'll look at personal pronouns. You'll learn how to use the forms sie-ihr (she-to-her) and sie-ihnen (they-to-them). We'll look at examples: für sie, mit ihr, für sie, mit ihnen. After that, we'll talk about the polite form of Sie — "you." You'll see sentences like: Haben Sie…?, Für Sie, Ich möchte mit Ihnen sprechen. In the second part of the lesson, we'll move on to the possessive pronoun ihr, which means her. We'll cover the noun forms: "My Father," "My Child," "My Mother," and "My Friend," as well as their changes in the accusative, dative, and genitive: for "My Father," "with My Child," "The Car My Father," and "The Work My Friend Does." At the end, we'll explain the difference between "sie – ihr" and "Sie – Ihr." After this lesson, you'll have a much better understanding of German pronouns. Video explanation in German: In this video, you'll learn German pronouns: "sie," "ihr," "ihnen," "Sie und Ihr." Diese Wörter können verschiedene Bedeutungen haben, zum Beispiel “she”, “her”, “they”, “their”, “you” oder “your”. Deshalb sind sie für viele Deutschlernende oft verwirrend. Zuerst schauen wir uns die Personalpronomen an. Sie lernen die Formen sie – ihr (she – to her) und sie – ihnen (they – to them). This video helps you, and you'll learn German pronunciations and find them more useful.
